Caleta Portales Beach

Don't skip the nearby seafood shacks! Just be sure to ask for the daily specials; I got lucky with a fresh ceviche that was a real steal for what I paid.

Check the local vibe before you go. Some days it can be pretty windy, and that can ruin your beach day. I totally got sand everywhere on one of those windy trips!

I recommend hitting the beach by 9 AM to snag a good spot and enjoy a quieter vibe before the crowds roll in. Trust me, it's way nicer in the morning!

Bring some snacks and drinks, 'cause beach kiosks can be pricy. I splurged on a latte that was totally not worth it!
Punta de Lobos

Don't forget to pack a warmer sweater. Even in summer, it gets chilly in the evening. I learned that the hard way when I was shivering after the sunset!

I recommend exploring the nearby beaches too. La Puntilla is a hidden gem and way less busy. A perfect spot for a chill afternoon!

If you plan to eat out, check out the smaller local restaurants instead of the touristy ones. They have amazing seafood and prices that won’t break your wallet. My meal was way better at a local spot!

My advice is to bring cash, especially if you want to grab some local street food. Some places don't take cards, and the food is super tasty and affordable!
El Laucho Beach

Bring cash... A lot of local food stalls and shops only accept cash... I got caught out, and it limited my options for some tasty local bites

Take a walk along the coast to find quieter spots. I discovered some beautiful areas away from the main crowds. Perfect for a chill afternoon or a quieter swim.

If you're planning to rent a surfboard, I suggest doing it early in the day. The rental shops get super busy by mid-morning, and you might find yourself waiting around

Pack a light jacket for the evening. The temperature drops quickly, and I was caught shivering after sunset without one. It's a simple fix that makes a big difference!
Chinchorro Beach

My advice is to bring some cash if you plan to buy snacks or drinks. A lot of stalls and little shops only take cash, and ATMs can be a bit of a hike from the beach.

I recommend checking the tide schedules before you go. When I visited, the tide was too high for swimming in the afternoon, which was a bummer!

I suggest getting to Chinchorro Beach by around 10 a.m. to snag a good spot, because it gets busier later, especially on weekends. Bring your own umbrella to save on renting one!
La Lisera Beach

I recommend visiting La Lisera Beach on a weekday. It gets really crowded on weekends, and it’s way more enjoyable with less people around. Plus, you can grab a good spot!

I suggest bringing an umbrella if you plan to chill on the beach. There’s not much shade and it can get super sunny. Trust me I burned way too fast!

I think you should explore the surrounding area if you have time. Check out the cliffs nearby for some stunning views. Just be careful near the edge; the scenery is amazing but safety comes first!

Make sure to wear flip-flops or water shoes. The sand can be hot and there are some rocky areas that can hurt your feet. I soaked my feet in the ocean a bit too long that day!
Caleta Abarca Beach

The beach can get really crowded on weekends, so if you can, visit on a weekday for a more laid-back vibe. Much more fun that way!
If you plan to swim, bring beach shoes. The sand can be kinda rocky in parts, and it made my toes a bit sore. Trust me on this one.

Don't miss the sunset! It paints the sky in awesome colors. I’d say around 7 PM is the perfect time to grab a spot and just chill out.
El Sol Beach

I recommend checking the tide schedule before you go. I noticed it was hard to find a good spot when the tide was really high, and I wish I'd planned better.

i suggest bringing your own snacks and drinks to save some cash. the beachside vendors are pricey, and i regretted not packing a picnic.

If you're planning to rent an umbrella try to haggle a bit! I got mine for half the price by just asking nicely.

My advice is to visit El Sol Beach in the late afternoon, around 4 PM. The crowds thin out, and the sunset views are absolutely stunning!
El Durazno Beach

Check the tide times! I didn't and I ended up with my perfect spot getting washed away. Knowing the tide schedule can help you plan for the best experience.

Don't forget sunscreen. The sun can be pretty intense, and I got burned despite thinking I was fine. Plus, consider bringing a hat and sunglasses for extra protection.
Las Torpederas Beach

Parking can be a hassle. My advice is to find a spot a bit further from the beach and walk. It saves time looking for a closer spot and it's nice to stretch your legs before you hit the sand.

I totally recommend bringing some snacks and drinks, because the beach can get quite busy and you might not find a place to grab food easily. Also, having your own stuff saves you some cash!
Don't bother with the public restrooms; they can be pretty rough. I suggest you just plan a stop at a nearby café beforehand before you get to the beach
Los Enamorados Beach

Don't miss the sunset! It’s truly breathtaking around 6-7 PM. Grab a drink and chill on the sand as the sky colors change, trust me, it’s worth it.

Don't forget sunscreen! The sun gets pretty fierce, and I definitely regretted not bringing my own after a few hours.

The beach can get crowded, especially on weekends. If you want a quieter spot, visit on a weekday. I had a much better experience on Tuesday compared to Saturday.

Parking can be a nightmare, so I suggest arriving via public transport or ride-sharing. It saved me a lot of frustration and money!
