Check the local vibe before you go. Some days it can be pretty windy, and that can ruin your beach day. I totally got sand everywhere on one of those windy trips!

I recommend hitting the beach by 9 AM to snag a good spot and enjoy a quieter vibe before the crowds roll in. Trust me, it's way nicer in the morning!

Bring some snacks and drinks, 'cause beach kiosks can be pricy. I splurged on a latte that was totally not worth it!

If you're up for it, pack a picnic! There are plenty of nice spots to relax and enjoy a bite while you soak in the views - it saves you from buying overpriced cafe food.

Arrive by 9 AM to get the best views of the waterfalls before it gets too crowded. I wished I’d gone earlier for some great photo ops!

I recommend exploring the nearby beaches too. La Puntilla is a hidden gem and way less busy. A perfect spot for a chill afternoon!

If you plan to eat out, check out the smaller local restaurants instead of the touristy ones. They have amazing seafood and prices that won’t break your wallet. My meal was way better at a local spot!

user avatar
George December 15, 2024

My advice is to bring cash, especially if you want to grab some local street food. Some places don't take cards, and the food is super tasty and affordable!

I think renting a surfboard from one of the local shops is the best move. You can negotiate prices easily and it's often cheaper than big name stores. I saved a few bucks that way!

I found the best time to visit is around 9 am. The park is so peaceful, and you get to enjoy the fresh air before it gets crowded.

user avatar
Mary January 15, 2025

Watch out for the sun, especially in the afternoon! I got sunburned because I thought standing under trees was enough shade. Bring sunscreen for sure!

user avatar
Jane January 12, 2025

Definitely pack a snack or a picnic! The food options inside are a bit pricey, and having a nice meal while overlooking the lake is just perfect!

user avatar
James November 28, 2024

I suggest taking the time to stroll along the edges of the lagoons. You might spot some birds and it’s a nice way to enjoy nature without feeling rushed.

When you're at the top, take a few minutes to just sit and enjoy the scenery. I rushed around taking pics and kinda missed soaking in the moment. Just relax for a bit!

John December 5, 2024

Don't forget to bring water and some snacks! There are spots to chill, and having some snacks can make your visit much more enjoyable, especially if you’re there for several hours

Anthony October 25, 2024

I suggest grabbing food from local vendors instead of the park's cafes. You'll save money, and the street food is surprisingly delicious. Just watch out for spicy stuff if you're not used to it.

Pack a light jacket for the evening. The temperature drops quickly, and I was caught shivering after sunset without one. It's a simple fix that makes a big difference!

user avatar
Thomas November 22, 2024

Don't miss the sunset! It can get a bit crowded, but I think watching the sunset over the ocean is totally worth it. Grab a drink and find a spot on the sand by around 6:30 PM.

I recommend checking the tide schedules before you go. When I visited, the tide was too high for swimming in the afternoon, which was a bummer!

user avatar
Elizabeth November 27, 2024

I suggest getting to Chinchorro Beach by around 10 a.m. to snag a good spot, because it gets busier later, especially on weekends. Bring your own umbrella to save on renting one!

I suggest bringing an umbrella if you plan to chill on the beach. There’s not much shade and it can get super sunny. Trust me I burned way too fast!

user avatar
Elizabeth December 3, 2024

I think you should explore the surrounding area if you have time. Check out the cliffs nearby for some stunning views. Just be careful near the edge; the scenery is amazing but safety comes first!

user avatar
Joshua November 21, 2024

Make sure to wear flip-flops or water shoes. The sand can be hot and there are some rocky areas that can hurt your feet. I soaked my feet in the ocean a bit too long that day!

user avatar
Edward November 19, 2024

My advice is to pack a cooler with drinks and snacks. It’s more affordable than buying from local vendors, which can be pricey. Keep those beach vibes going without breaking the bank!

If you plan to swim, bring beach shoes. The sand can be kinda rocky in parts, and it made my toes a bit sore. Trust me on this one.

Don't miss the sunset! It paints the sky in awesome colors. I’d say around 7 PM is the perfect time to grab a spot and just chill out.
