Central Park of Antigua Guatemala
I recommend grabbing a coffee from one of the local cafes before heading to the park—it's a great way to start your day and gives you energy for walking around!
My advice is to visit around 5 PM when the light is perfect for photos and it's cooler. Plus, you can catch a lovely sunset!
If you're looking to save money, check out the local markets nearby for lunch instead of restaurants. I found delicious food at a fraction of the price!
Natural Monument Semuc Champey
If you can, visit during the week instead of the weekend. It’s way less crowded and you can enjoy the beauty of Semuc Champey in peace. I went on a Tuesday and it felt like I had the place almost to myself!
Consider hiring a local guide. They can share amazing stories and point out things you might miss otherwise. I really enjoyed learning about the area’s history and nature. Totally worth the extra cost.
Tanque La Union
Check out the surroundings—there are some cool local shops and cafes near the tank. I stumbled upon a charming coffee shop after my visit, and it made my day!
Bring a small snack or drink. There aren't many vendors nearby, and you’ll want something while soaking in the lovely scenery. I ran out of water and regretted not bringing my own.
