Big Almaty Lake
Issyk Lake

I recommend getting there early, around 8 AM, to beat the crowds and catch the stunning sunrise over the lake. It’s totally worth it! The views are unreal.

My advice is to bring your own snacks and drinks. The prices at local kiosks can be a bit high, and you don't want to waste time hunting for food when you could be enjoying the scenery.
Kolsai Lakes
don't forget to bring cash! some of the small shops and cafes around the lakes don’t accept cards, so you'll want to stock up on tenge beforehand.

I recommend starting your day early, around 7 AM. The sunrise over the lakes is simply breathtaking and you’ll avoid the crowds. Plus, you’ll have more time to explore.

Consider taking a local bus instead of a taxi from Almaty to save a few bucks. It’s a bit of an adventure, but you’ll meet some friendly locals along the way!
