I think local currency is important, but not all places accept card payments. Keep some cash handy for small purchases and tips.

I recommend renting gear from local shops rather than your resort. It’s usually cheaper, and you can get better quality equipment.

I suggest you book your diving trips in advance. The best spots fill up quickly and you don’t want to miss out when you get there!
Tonnachau Mountain
Pohnpei Surf and Dive Club
Ant Atoll

I recommend packing some snacks and drinks. The local shops can be pricey and limited so having your own food saves you time and cash while you enjoy the views

I suggest bringing your own snorkeling gear. Rental prices can add up, and the gear they have might not be the best quality. I saved money and enjoyed my own comfortable gear.

Try to catch the sunrise at 6 AM. The beaches are way less crowded, and the morning light makes for stunning photos.
Sokehs Rock
Laidenki Divers

My advice is to try their night dives! They're totally different and the marine life is way more active. Just bring a flashlight, and you'll be amazed. .

I suggest booking your dives in advance, especially during peak season. We waited too long and missed out on some great spots because they were fully booked. Don't let this happen to you.
SS Thorfinn

I suggest bringing your own snacks and drinks, because the food on the boat can be pricey and not that great. I packed some granola bars and that saved me quite a bit.

My advice is to book your diving spots ahead of time. I didn't and ended up missing out on some great dives because they were fully booked on the day I arrived. Definitely plan ahead!
