Check the weather before your trip. It can change quickly in the mountains. I got caught in a surprise hailstorm, which was fun but not what I expected.

If you're planning to rent equipment for biking or hiking, do it in Zabljak; I found a place with better prices than those near the park entrance. Saved a good bit of cash!

Definitely wear sturdy shoes! I thought my casual sneakers would be fine, but the trails can get tricky. Invest in some good hiking boots and save yourself from sore feet!

My advice is to bring your own snacks and drinks. The cafes near the entrance are pretty pricey and the views are way better when you're enjoying a picnic by the lake!
