There are quite a few charming cafes and spots to grab a bite, but my advice is to check out the food at the Aker Brygge area for fresh seafood – it's a bit pricey but totally worth it!
Be mindful of the ferry schedules if you want to hop over to the islands. It's very easy to lose track of time, and I missed my ferry by just a few minutes – total bummer!
Watch the weather closely before heading out. It can change quickly in Oslo, and being unprepared left me a bit soggy on my visit. A light, waterproof jacket is a good idea!
If you're into yachting, try to visit on a weekday. The weekend crowds can get pretty heavy, and you’ll have a better chance of snagging a good spot to watch the boats come in and out.
Sorenga Syobad
Check the weather beforehand! I went on a cloudy day and missed the sunshine. Sunny days really enhance the vibe at Sorenga.
I suggest bringing your own snacks and drinks. The café can be a bit pricey, and it’s nice to enjoy your own stuff by the water.
If you're looking for a chill spot, head to the far end of the swimming area. It's usually quieter there, and you can enjoy a peaceful swim away from the noise.
Don't forget your towel. I made the mistake of leaving mine behind, and the rentals they offer are not the greatest quality
