Soberania National Park

If you're planning to hike, bring cash for the entrance fee. I brought my card and had to find an ATM outside the park, which wasted some time. Plus, the entrance fee is super affordable!

Don’t forget your bug spray, especially in the early morning or late afternoon. I got eaten alive on my first trek and wished I had better protection!

i recommend visiting the pipeline road—it has the best birdwatching if you're into that. but, plan a half-day for it since there’s so much to see. it’s a photographer's paradise!
Altos de Campana National Park
Chagres National Park

I suggest bringing cash for entrance fees and local snacks, as not all places accept cards... I ran out of money on my visit and it was a hassle to find an ATM

you might wanna wear good hiking boots instead of sneakers. trust me, the terrain can be slippery and rocky. learned that the hard way!

I think it's best to start your trek by 7 AM to avoid the heat and catch the wildlife active in the morning. I started later and missed a lot!

My advice is to download an offline map of the park. Cell service can be spotty, and you don’t want to get lost while enjoying the beautiful trails!
La India Dormida
Park Natural Metropolitan

Wear comfortable shoes because the paths can be a bit uneven. I wore my fashion sneakers, and trust me, it was a mistake. You’ll want something sturdy for a better experience!

plan to visit in the early morning around 7 am. it's cooler and quieter, plus you might catch glimpses of wildlife before the heat drives them away. i loved having the trails mostly to myself.
The Lost Waterfalls
Bastimentos National Par

Lastly, I think starting your hike around 8 am is best. You'll beat the heat and have a better chance at seeing wildlife before it gets too crowded and hot
If you want to save some cash, consider packing a lunch instead of eating at the local eateries. The food is delish, but prices can add up quickly.

I recommend bringing plenty of bug spray! The mosquitoes can be relentless, especially during the evenings. I forgot mine and spent a night swatting them away.
Volcan Baru National Park

Start your hike early, around 5 AM, to catch the sunrise at the summit – it’s breathtaking and you'll beat the crowds... Plus, the cooler temperatures make for a more enjoyable trek

Bring cash for local vendors along the trail. I didn’t and missed out on some epic snacks and drinks, which could have saved me from hunger on the long hike!
Coiba National Park

I recommend you bring cash. Some local vendors and guides don't accept cards, and you don't want to miss out on fresh coconuts or that amazing lunch because you can't pay!

I think it's worth your while to pack snacks and water for your hikes. The island's a bit remote, and I found myself pretty hungry after a few hours without food. Bring some energy bars, trust me!

I suggest packing a really good lunch and plenty of snacks. The options in the park are limited and overpriced. I ended up paying way too much for a small meal. Bring what at least lasts you till the afternoon!

I think you should try to snorkel at Isla Rancheria. The marine life is amazing and way better than some of the other spots. Just bring your own gear to save some cash. I rented and it was costly and not great quality
