Jose Risal Park

If you’re into photography like me, don’t forget your camera! The sunset views here are stunning, especially around 5:30 PM. Just keep an eye on your stuff if it gets crowded.

I think you might want to check the event schedule before going. There’s often free entertainment, and I was lucky enough to catch a cultural show that was totally unexpected and really enjoyable!

I suggest bringing your own snacks and water. The food inside can be pricey, and there's plenty of nice spots to eat your own picnic under the trees. It saved me some cash!
Burnham Park

Bring a picnic. I didn’t, and I regretted it. There are beautiful spots where you can enjoy a meal, and it's way cheaper than buying food at the park vendors.

Keep an eye out for local vendors selling souvenirs. I found unique handmade items at reasonable prices compared to the shops, and haggling is part of the fun!

Plan to take a stroll around the flower gardens. I skipped them initially thinking they were just small patches, but they actually have some stunning blooms worth checking out.

Try renting a paddle boat in the lake; it's a fun way to spend time and get some great photos! It’s budget-friendly and a unique experience, unlike anything else in the park.
Kawasan Falls
Boracay

I suggest hitting the beaches early, around 7 AM, for the best sunrise views and fewer crowds. It's magical and makes for amazing photos!

You gotta try the trikes for getting around! They’re cheap and fun, but do haggle a bit. I learned that the hard way after overpaying for my first ride.

I recommend booking water sports activities in advance. I waited until I got there, and most slots were full or overpriced. Plan ahead to save some money!
White Beach

Check out the local shops for souvenirs instead of tourist traps. I found some cool handcrafted items that were way cheaper and better quality!

I suggest bringing your own snacks and drinks. Beachside vendors can be pricey and having your stuff means you can chill without worrying about costs.

If you want to enjoy that beautiful water without the throngs of people, go for a swim past 4 PM. It’s the perfect time to relax and snap some great photos.

My advice is to book an island-hopping tour with local operators. They’re usually cheaper and less crowded than the ones advertised at hotels; ask around for good recommendations.
Taal Volcano

Pack a light snack and plenty of water. I saw too many people struggling with hunger halfway up the trail and the shops there can be pricey!

Try to start your trek around 7 AM. It gets super hot later, and you'll want to beat the crowds on the way up. The views are so much better when it's not crowded!
The Quezon Memorial Circle

Check out the different art installations around the Circle. I didn’t know there were so many and spent a lovely afternoon discovering hidden gems. Just take your time and explore!

I suggest bringing some snacks and water, especially if you’re planning to stroll around for a few hours. There are shops, but they can be a bit pricey.

If you're a photography lover, make sure to visit late afternoon around 4 PM when the sunlight hits beautifully. I got some amazing pics during that golden hour!

I recommend arriving early, around 7 AM, to avoid the heat and the crowds. It’s way more peaceful at that time, plus you can enjoy a lovely breakfast at a nearby cafe.
Bulkang Mayon
Manila Ocean Park

Bring some snacks! The food options inside can be pricey and kinda limited. I regret not packing a few light bites to keep me going without spending too much.

Check out the feeding sessions! I stumbled upon one, and it was such a highlight. The sea lions are adorable and the staff really engage with the crowd.

You might wanna buy the tickets online before you go. I did, and it saved me from the long lines. Plus, sometimes they have discounts for pre-bookings.
