Don't forget to pack snacks and plenty of water. The food options are limited and can be pricy in the park, so bringing your own stuff is a good way to save a few rand.

If you're self-driving, stick to the main roads. I got lost trying to take shortcuts and wasted valuable safari time. Plus, you might miss some awesome viewing spots if you venture off the beaten path.

I suggest downloading a wildlife app before you go. It really helped me identify animals, and saved me time looking stuff up. Plus, it’s fun to take notes on what you’ve seen!

When going on hikes, I recommend downloading offline maps. Signal is spotty in some areas and I got lost for a bit because I didn't. Download a map beforehand and keep your phone charged!

Plan your visits around the morning or late afternoon, like around 9 AM or after 4 PM. The light is just stunning for photos and you’ll likely spot more wildlife, plus it’s cooler too!

I recommend getting to the park around 7 AM. The early morning is the best time to spot the elephants and other wildlife before it gets too hot and crowded.

My advice is to go early, around 8 AM. It’s quieter, and you can enjoy the fresh air without too many people. Plus, the lake looks stunning in the morning light.

I learned the hard way that some areas don't have great cell service, so download directions or info before you go. You'll want to be able to find your way without stress!

I recommend checking out the small local market if it’s on, especially on Sundays. You’ll find unique crafts and yummy food, which makes for a nice way to spend some time

Check the weather before you go. It can change quickly and having an umbrella or a light jacket can save you from a soggy experience. I learned that the hard way!

I suggest bringing a picnic! The park is so beautiful and it’s a great way to relax after a hike. There are some nice spots to chill, plus it’ll save you some money on food.
