Serengeti National Park
Be prepared for dust! I thought I could wear nice clothes but ended up dusty and uncomfortable. Old clothes and a bandana are a must for this trip
If you can, try to hit the park at 6 AM. You'll catch the sunrise and see animals before it gets too hot – trust me, the early birds have a better view!
Bring snacks! I forgot my lunch on the first day, and we had to waste time looking for a spot to eat. Packing a picnic really makes a difference.

Check for park entry prices ahead of time. Sometimes they change, and I saw some folks getting caught off guard with unexpected fees
Consider hiring a local guide who knows the best spots. It feels like having a backstage pass to nature, and they can save you a lot of time looking for wildlife.
Make sure to carry snacks and plenty of water. The park can be huge and finding a good spot for a picnic can save you time and energy during your safari.
Tarangire National Park
Lake Manyara National Park
Ruaha National Park
Don't skip the night drives! They were the highlight of my trip. Spotting nocturnal animals was an experience I won't forget. It's worth the extra cost!
Bring cash. Many of the local crafts and shops don’t accept cards, and you might miss out on some amazing souvenirs if you're not prepared.
Arusha National Park
I suggest packing your own lunch and snacks before heading in... The park's food options are limited and kinda pricey... I wish I'd brought a picnic instead of splurging on an average meal inside
Mafia Island Marine Park
when you visit the sandbanks, bring plenty of water and snacks. i thought there'd be places to buy food, but it was pretty limited. my advice is to stock up before you head out.
I suggest you book a snorkelling trip through local operators instead of hotel tours, it's often cheaper and you'll get a more personal experience. Plus, the guides are super knowledgeable and really friendly.
Jozani Forest
I think bringing some snacks and water is a smart move because the on-site café is a bit pricey and can have limited options. Trust me, you don’t want to be caught hungry while exploring!
Saanane National Park
Wear good hiking shoes! Some trails can get a bit tricky and muddy. I slipped a few times because I didn't think it would be that challenging.
Kitulo National Park
I recommend visiting in the dry season, which is from June to October. You get clearer skies for the amazing views, plus fewer bugs! I went in December and totally regretted it.
