My advice is to wear good hiking boots. The trails can get muddy, and I slipped a few times in sneakers. Save yourself the hassle and invest in some sturdy footwear.

I recommend visiting in the dry season, which is from June to October. You get clearer skies for the amazing views, plus fewer bugs! I went in December and totally regretted it.
