Vasona Lake County Playground
Check out the playground's unique features around 11 AM when it's less crowded. I found it way easier to let my kids explore without the long lines!
I recommend bringing your own snacks and drinks to save some cash. The on-site food options can be pricey and not that great. I packed a picnic and it made my day so much better!
I suggest looking for deals on parking before you go. I parked near the entrance, but if you walk a bit further, you can find free spots that save you a few bucks.
Dennis The Menace Playground
I suggest getting there by 9 AM. The playground gets super crowded by noon, and it's so much easier for the kids to explore when there are fewer people around
Hellyer County Playground
Check the local weather before you go; it can get pretty hot in summer. Bring plenty of water and snacks to save money on pricey concessions. I learned that the hard way!
Look for nearby parking spaces, as the lot can fill up fast. I parked a couple of blocks away to save a few bucks; it was a quick walk but worth it
Magical Bridge Playground
My advice is to visit on a weekday if you can. It gets super crowded on weekends, and you’ll have more space to enjoy the fun without waiting in long lines.
Smith Memorial Playground & Playhouse
My advice is to get there close to opening time, around 10 AM, to avoid crowds... We arrived at 11 and had trouble finding spots for the kids to play
I think you should definitely check the event schedule when you're planning your visit. We lucked out with a fun, free storytime session that the kids loved!
City Park
If you're into jogging or biking, I suggest hitting the paths early in the morning around 7 AM. The fresh air is lovely and the park is quiet.
Okay, so I totally underestimated how hot it gets. Bring sunscreen and a water bottle; the Sun can be relentless, even in early fall!
I recommend visiting the park on a weekday; it was way less crowded and I could really enjoy the tranquil vibes. Weekends can be nutty!
Check out the Carousel Gardens Amusement Park if you’re with kids. They had a blast, and I think it was worth the entry fee. Just budget for snacks!
Heckscher Playground
Bring snacks and water. There aren’t many food options right near the playground, and you’ll want a break to refuel. I learned that the hard way!
Check out the game areas; they have some really fun stuff! I almost missed the giant slide. It’s an absolute must—your kids will love it!
John D. Morgan Playground
I suggest going in the early morning, around 8am. It’s so much quieter then, and the kids can have the whole place to themselves!
I recommend bringing a picnic. The nearby tables are great for a break and you’ll save some cash instead of buying snacks from food vendors.
My advice is to wear comfy shoes. The playground is bigger than it looks and there's a lot of space to explore, so your feet will thank you later!
I think you should check out the seasonal events. They sometimes have fun activities for kids, and you might get lucky with a free treat or two!
Koret Playground
Check the weather before heading out—if it’s windy bring a jacket! The open spaces can get chilly especially in the late afternoon.
Rotary Play Garden
I recommend visiting on a weekday if you can. It tends to be way less crowded, so you can fully enjoy the playground and let the kids run wild without worrying about waiting in line for the swings.
