The Fallsview Tourist Area

I recommend getting to the observation decks first thing in the morning, around 8 AM. You’ll beat the crowd and get the best views without people in your photos!

I think it's worth splurging a little on the dining options with a view. I visited a restaurant overlooking the Falls and it was totally worth it for the atmosphere!

I suggest checking the weather before you go, especially if you're planning on being outside. I didn't realize it would rain, and I ended up soggy all day!

One thing I wish I knew earlier is to wear comfortable shoes! You'll be walking a lot around the decks and trails, and my feet were killing me by the end of the day.
Downtown Aquarium
If you're planning to take photos, I recommend going when the aquarium first opens at 10 AM. The lighting is great and it’s less crowded for those perfect shots!

Check out the feeding times for the sharks and rays. It's a super cool experience, and you won't want to miss it. They can get packed, so look at the schedule ahead!

Bring a water bottle! The inside can get a bit stuffy, and it's nice to stay hydrated while wandering around. Plus, it saves you a few bucks on drinks

Grab a combo ticket for the aquarium and the restaurant. It’s a bit cheaper than buying them separately, and you won't have to rush between the two!
Treasure Island Hotel & Casino

I recommend arriving before 10 PM if you want a good spot to catch the pirate show outside, it's super popular! After that, it's harder to find a good view.

I suggest trying to explore the shops in the hotel, some of them offer good discounts! I found a great souvenir for way less than I expected.

My advice is to take a walk along the strip during the evening. It's beautiful and you'll find some hidden gems near Treasure Island that aren't in the big tourist guides.
Cochon
I recommend ordering a few small plates to share. This way you can experience more of their cool Southern flavors without breaking the bank!

Getting a seat at the bar is a great way to enjoy the atmosphere without a reservation. Plus, the staff is super friendly.

Beware of the parking situation. I had to pay for an expensive lot because street parking was completely full. Consider using a rideshare to save a few bucks.

I suggest getting there right when they open at 11 AM to snag a table without a long wait. It gets busy fast, trust me!
Chelsea Market
Explore the side shops too! Some of the coolest finds weren’t just in the food stalls, but in the neighboring boutiques. I discovered some unique souvenirs that way!

Check out the seating areas before you grab your food; some spots are much cozier than others... I found a hidden area at the back that was way less crowded!

Try to go on a weekday, preferably around 1 PM. Weekends get crazy crowded, and I struggled to even find a place to stand!

Bring cash! Some stalls only accept cash, and it can save you time waiting for the card machine. I learned this the hard way while standing in line!
Commander's Palace

Take some time to explore their courtyard before or after your meal. It’s beautiful and makes for great photos. I kinda regret not taking more time there.
Don't skip the gumbo! It's seriously one of the best I've ever had. I would recommend pairing it with a hurricane cocktail for a true New Orleans experience

I suggest arriving around 5:30 PM for dinner to avoid the rush... The place gets packed and it can feel chaotic if you're there when it’s too crowded

Make a reservation well in advance, like at least two weeks ahead, especially for weekends. I did it last minute and ended up waiting way longer than I wanted.
The Lady and Sons

If you're planning to go, I suggest getting there right when they open at 11 AM. The lines can get pretty long, and you want to snag a good seat.
I recommend trying the buffet if you're feeling adventurous! It's a great way to taste a bunch of southern dishes, and it's filling without breaking the bank

I think it's worth checking out their website for any current promotions. I found out they had a lunch deal I didn't know about, which saved me a good bit.
Fog Harbor Fish House

My advice is to bring a light jacket if you're sitting outside, even in summer. The wind off the bay can be pretty chilly, and you don’t want to cut your meal short because you’re freezing.

I think it’s best to make a reservation, especially on weekends. I walked in during peak dinner hours and ended up waiting almost 30 minutes, which wasn’t fun after a long day of exploring!

I recommend checking out the happy hour specials, usually from 3-5 PM. You can save a bit and still enjoy some great seafood! I had their clam chowder, and wow, it was delicious at a good price.

One thing I’d suggest is to go for the daily special! The chef's choice was great when I went, and it’s often a dish that isn’t on the regular menu. And make sure to save room for dessert – totally worth it!
Uproar Lounge

My advice is to try the themed nights! I stumbled upon a drag show on Wednesday, and it was a blast! A great way to enjoy some live entertainment and connect with locals.

Definitely check out their happy hour from 5-7 PM. The drink prices are pretty sweet, and you can try a bunch of different cocktails without breaking the bank. Trust me, it made my night way better!

If you can, avoid the weekends if you don’t want to deal with a huge crowd. I went on a Thursday night, and it was way more chill and relaxed. Plus, better chance of getting a seat!
Brennan's

If you can, go for brunch instead of dinner. You’ll save some money on the prix fixe menu and the vibe is a little more laid-back

I suggest making a reservation, especially on weekends. We showed up without one and had to wait a while - didn’t expect that!

My advice is to skip the cocktails if you're looking to save a few bucks. They were good, but I think the food is where their real magic is.
