Plan to stay until sunset! The colors are stunning and it adds an extra magic to your day. Some of the best photos I took were as the sun dipped.

If you're staying in Samana, take the local ferry instead of booking an expensive tour. It saves loads of cash and it's a fun ride! Just check the schedule online 'cause it can vary.

Check out the local shops for beach gear instead of going to the touristy stores along the beach. I found some cool souvenirs at half the price, and it felt more authentic

I think renting a kayak is a great idea, but don't pay the first price you see. Shop around a bit and you might find a better deal nearby. I saved a few bucks that way!

I suggest bringing your own snacks and drinks, because the beachfront places can be pricey. Stock up at a local store in town to save some cash.

Bring cash! Some local vendors and boat operators only accept cash, which took me by surprise. I ran into a few places where I couldn’t get anything without it

I suggest bringing your own beach chair or towel. The rental prices can add up, and I wished I had packed my own instead of shelling out extra cash.

I found that going to the beach right at 9 AM was the best; it's quieter and way easier to snag a good spot on the sand. Plus, the sun isn’t too intense yet.
