Rinjani

If you're thinking of camping, bring your own gear. Renting there was a bit pricey, and the quality was a mixed bag. My advice is to invest in a good backpack tent before you go.

Pack snacks! There are limited options on the trail, and I wish I had brought more. I ended up with just a granola bar, which didn't do me much good on the long hike. So bring more food and water!

I suggest heading up for the summit around 2 a.m. That way, you can catch the sunrise at the top. It’s totally worth the early wake-up call!

My advice is to hire a local guide instead of going with a big tour company. They know the best routes and will give you a more personal experience, plus it's often cheaper!
Surf Desert Point
Lakey Beach

My advice is to check the surf conditions before heading out, especially if you're a beginner. I got knocked around a bit because I didn’t pay attention. Better safe than sorry!

I recommend renting a scooter to explore the area; it’s way cheaper and gives you the freedom to find hidden beaches. Trust me, some of the best spots are off the beaten path.
