National Archaeological Museum of Naples
Grab a map when you enter. I suggest highlighting the must-see pieces, so you don’t miss anything important. It really helped me stay organized.
I think bringing a mobile charger is a good idea. You’ll probably want to snap a ton of photos and my phone died halfway through!
Excavations in Pompeii
Look out for toilet facilities before you get too deep into the ruins. I totally forgot and had to retrace my steps back to the entrance which wasted quite a bit of time!
I recommend taking your time in the frescoed villas. They’re stunning, but also busy. If you can, go on a weekday for a quieter experience - I went on a Saturday, and it was packed!
Pack a bottle of water and some snacks. There are a few places to eat, but I found it cheaper and more relaxing to munch while exploring. Plus, sitting in the shade with a snack is a perfect break!
I suggest visiting right when the site opens at 9 AM. The early morning light makes for great photos, and there's fewer crowds to deal with, which was a game changer for me!
National Museum and Gallery Capodimonte
I suggest bringing a picnic to enjoy in the gardens after touring the museum. It’s a lovely area and will save you money on snacks
Watch out for the first Sunday of each month when entry is free! Just be prepared for larger crowds; it was a bit hectic when I visited.
Charterhouse and Museum of San Martino Naples
Grab a map at the entrance; it helps you navigate better and discover hidden gems. I got lost at first, and it wasted some of my time.
Underground Naples
Check if there's a combo ticket available for other nearby attractions! It saved us some cash, and we could explore more without breaking the bank.
Donnaregina Museum of Contemporary Art
If you're planning to check out the Donnaregina Museum, try to get there right when it opens at 10 AM... I found it much less crowded then, which made the experience way more enjoyable
I think it's a good idea to grab combo tickets that include other nearby attractions. It really saves you some cash if you plan to explore more of Naples!
Galleria Borbonica
My advice is to wear comfortable shoes! The tour involves quite a bit of walking and some uneven surfaces. I forgot to do this and it made my visit a little less enjoyable.
Paper Museum
I recommend checking out the paper-making demonstration if you can... It was super interesting and really added to the experience... Just ask when they do it; I nearly missed it!
