I recommend showing up around 10 AM to beat the crowds. It gets pretty packed later, and you want enough time to enjoy everything without rushing.
If you're a cheese lover, I suggest you buy some to take home. The prices are decent, and I wish I had stocked up more!
4 Madonnas Dairy of Emilia
Red Cows Consortium
Enoteca Fontana
If you're on a budget, opt for the wine tasting option rather than by-the-glass purchases. It gives you a little bit of everything without breaking the bank.
Azienda Agricola Moscattini
Bring a cooler bag if you plan to buy fresh cheese. Some of it needs to stay cool for the journey back, and my cheese almost didn't make it!
If you can, visit during the weekdays, as it tends to be less crowded and you can enjoy a more personal experience. Saturday was pretty packed and we felt rushed.
Dairy St. Pier Damiani
Ciaolatte
Don't miss the shop at the end of your visit! They sometimes offer discounts on leftover cheeses, and you can snag some authentic local products to take home at a great price.
I think the tour is worth it, but make sure to ask questions! I felt a bit shy at first and missed out on getting some great insider info. So, don’t hold back!
Mercato Delle Erbe
Parmigiano Reggiano
i suggest visiting on a weekday if you can; it was way less crowded than the weekend. i found it easier to interact with the cheesemakers and really soak in the experience.
