Zocalo
Plan to check out the Zocalo in the evening around 7 PM. The lights really create a magical atmosphere, and you'll probably catch some live music or performances too!
Try to visit Zocalo on a weekday if you can. It gets super crowded on weekends, and I found it much easier to enjoy the architecture and snap pics without a ton of people in the way.
I suggest bringing a camera with a good zoom. You’ll want to capture the beautiful details of the buildings – they’re stunning!
Don't skip the small food stalls around the Zocalo. The quesadillas I tried were amazing and way cheaper than in the fancy restaurants nearby.
Santa Prisca
Acapulco Historical Museum of Fort San Diego
Don't skip the views from the fort. Take some time to stroll around the ramparts for amazing photo ops of the coastline.
Silver Tianguis
My advice is to wear comfy shoes. The streets are cobbled and a bit uneven, so you'll be glad you did! I regretted my shoe choice halfway through.
Diana the Huntress
Chapel of Peace
Pre-Hispanic Mine of Taxco
If you’re looking to save some cash, bring snacks and water instead of buying them there. The little shop has marked up prices that you won’t appreciate!
My advice is to grab a local guide if you can. I thought I could go solo, but having someone who knows the history really enhances the whole experience
Former Convent of San Bernardino of Siena
Our Lady of Solitude Cathedral
Don't skip the little shops nearby! I found some great local crafts that were super affordable. My advice is to haggle a bit – you might score a better deal!
