My advice is to buy your tickets online in advance! I missed a discount because I waited too long, and the lines were super long on weekends. Trim some time off your visit!
I recommend checking the weather before you go. It's cold in there so layer up. I wore a thick sweater and I was comfortable but some folks looked a bit chilly in just a t-shirt.

Check out the bush walk early in the morning around 8am. It's quiet then, and you might spot more wildlife without the crowds

i think bringing some snacks or a water bottle is a good idea. there’s not a lot of options nearby for food, and i ended up starving by the time i left
I recommend visiting in the morning around 10 AM. It was way less crowded then and I could really take in the space without feeling rushed. Plus the light coming through the windows is beautiful!
