Holmenkollen Ski Jump

make sure to grab a hot chocolate at the café after your visit. it's pricey, but trust me, it's worth it on a cold day! i regret not trying it sooner.

If you're planning to skate or ski check for rental deals online beforehand. I didn't and paid way more at the venue! Just a little pre-planning can save you some cash.
Dr. Jekyll’s Pub

I think you should check out their happy hour, which usually runs from 5-7 PM. Great way to save some cash on drinks! I ended up snagging a couple of good deals.

My advice is to ask the bartenders for cocktail recommendations. They really know their stuff and I found some hidden gems on their menu that were not advertised!

Check their social media for any events or live music nights before you go. I went spontaneously and missed out on a live band that would have made the night even more fun!

If you want a spot to play billiards, try to get there early, around 4 PM. It gets super crowded later at night and you might miss out on a table?
Oslo Camping

I think it’s best to visit on weekdays, especially early in the afternoon. The weekends can get super crowded, and I ended up waiting a long time to tee off.
My advice is to check the weather before you go. I had an unexpected downpour that dampened the fun. Packing a light rain jacket could save you from a soggy day.

I recommend getting the Oslo Pass if you plan on exploring more than just the camping. It saved me a ton on local attractions and transport! Plus, it's super handy for getting discounts everywhere.
Hafjell Alpinsenter

I think you should pack a lunch or snack; the food options on-site are kinda pricey. We ended up spending more on lunch than on skiing!

I recommend getting your lift passes online in advance; it saves you time at the ticket counter. Trust me, the lines can get long on weekends!

My advice is to hit the slopes early, around 9 AM is perfect, before the crowds build up. You'll have fresh powder and more room to enjoy yourself.

I suggest you try the night skiing if you're up for it; it's a totally different vibe and way less crowded. Just make sure to check the schedule first, though.
Oslo Bar & Bowling

I recommend booking your bowling lane in advance, especially on weekends... It gets super busy, and you don't want to end up waiting around... We did, and it was a bit of a bummer!

My advice is to try their happy hour deals on drinks, which usually run from 4 PM to 7 PM. We snagged some awesome cocktails at half price!

I think the food prices are a bit high, so maybe consider eating somewhere else first if you want to save some cash. We made that mistake and spent more than we wanted to!
Sorenga Syobad

Check the weather beforehand! I went on a cloudy day and missed the sunshine. Sunny days really enhance the vibe at Sorenga.

I suggest bringing your own snacks and drinks. The café can be a bit pricey, and it’s nice to enjoy your own stuff by the water.

If you're looking for a chill spot, head to the far end of the swimming area. It's usually quieter there, and you can enjoy a peaceful swim away from the noise.
Don't forget your towel. I made the mistake of leaving mine behind, and the rentals they offer are not the greatest quality
Oslo Port Authority

Bring a reusable water bottle! There are plenty of fountains around the port, and you'll save some cash instead of buying expensive drinks.
There are quite a few charming cafes and spots to grab a bite, but my advice is to check out the food at the Aker Brygge area for fresh seafood – it's a bit pricey but totally worth it!

Be mindful of the ferry schedules if you want to hop over to the islands. It's very easy to lose track of time, and I missed my ferry by just a few minutes – total bummer!

Watch the weather closely before heading out. It can change quickly in Oslo, and being unprepared left me a bit soggy on my visit. A light, waterproof jacket is a good idea!
Hemsedal

I think buying lift passes in advance online can save you a few bucks. I did it on the spot and ended up paying full price!

My advice is to try the local food, especially at smaller eateries. I made the mistake of sticking to tourist spots and missed out on some amazing dishes!
EKT Riding school and visitors' farm AS

I think checking their Facebook page for flash sales or special events can really help you save some cash. I stumbled upon a discount while I was there.

I suggest booking your riding session in advance, especially during weekends. They tend to get crowded and you might miss out if you just walk in

For first-timers I'd recommend going for the beginner rider session at 1 PM. The instructors are super patient and you get more attention during that slot.

My advice is to wear layers. The weather can be unpredictable in Oslo, and you'll want to be comfortable whether you're riding or just hanging around the farm.
Oslo Winterpark

Check out the lunchtime deals at the on-site cafe. I saved some kroner by grabbing a combo meal, plus the food was surprisingly good!

Make sure to dress in layers and bring a spare pair of gloves. I got super cold after my gloves got wet and it became a real downer.
