Watch the weather closely before heading out. It can change quickly in Oslo, and being unprepared left me a bit soggy on my visit. A light, waterproof jacket is a good idea!

If you're into yachting, try to visit on a weekday. The weekend crowds can get pretty heavy, and you’ll have a better chance of snagging a good spot to watch the boats come in and out.

If you're planning to swim, I'd say arrive around 9 AM on a weekday to avoid crowds. By 11 AM, it gets pretty busy, especially when families show up.
