De Hoop Whale Trail
Otter Trail

If you're planning to do the whole Otter Trail, my advice is to pack light. You don’t need a ton of stuff and it’ll make the hike so much easier. Trust me, every extra ounce feels like a ton after the first day.

I think it’s a great idea to invest in a good pair of hiking shoes before you go. I learned the hard way when my old sneakers gave me blisters on the second day. You don’t want sore feet ruining your adventure!

I suggest starting your trek early, around 7 AM. The morning mist on the trails is absolutely stunning, and you’ll beat the heat. Plus, it gives you plenty of time to enjoy the views without rushing.
Outeniqua Trail

Pack a picnic lunch and lots of water! Trust me, stopping for a break with a scenic view while munching on some snacks beats rushing to a restaurant.

I recommend hitting the trail early, around 7 AM, to avoid the heat and the crowds. You'll get the best views in the morning light and have the trails mostly to yourself.

I think it’s smart to bring a portable charger for your phone. You’ll be taking lots of pics, and you don’t want to run out of battery mid-hike!
Skeleton Gorge
Leopard’s Kloof

I suggest wearing sturdy hiking shoes with good grip; some areas can be slippery, and trust me, the last thing you want is to take a tumble while enjoying the views.
