Wear good hiking shoes. The trails can be rocky and slippery, and I almost took a tumble. I wish I'd brought my hiking boots instead of regular shoes
Bring cash for entrance and local vendors because not all places accept cards. I was caught off guard, and it limited my options.
Doi Ang Khang
Pong Horse Park
My advice is to try the sunset ride if you can! The views are breathtaking and the weather is cooler. Bring a light jacket though, it can get chillier than you expect.
Phu Chi Fa
If you're on a budget, consider staying at local guesthouses instead of hotels. They’re cheaper and give you a better feel for the local culture, plus you might meet some cool fellow travelers!
I suggest starting your hike really early, around 4 AM. You'll beat the crowds and catch the stunning sunrise without the rush. The view is absolutely worth it!
Montana Horse Riding & Sport Club
The Arrow Rest
Nam Lod Cave
I recommend bringing a pair of good water shoes, as you might have to navigate through some wet areas. I wish I had worn mine instead of slippery flip-flops that day!
I suggest visiting during the early morning right when it opens at 8 AM. You can beat the crowds and enjoy the tranquility of the cave before it gets busier.
If you're planning on taking photos, make sure to have a good flashlight or headlamp. The dim lighting makes it tricky to capture the beauty of the cave without one.
