Grand Canyon National Park
My advice is to download a trail map off the park website before you go. The signs are helpful, but they don't always show you all the trails, and a map can help you discover hidden gems.
I suggest bringing your own snacks and water. The food at the park is a bit pricey, and packing a picnic can save a bunch and let you enjoy the views longer
If you're thinking about a guided tour check for discounts online ahead of time. I found one that was 20% off just by searching!
Papago Park
Check out the Hole in the Rock; it's really cool and gives you great views of the city. Just be careful on the way up - it's steeper than it looks!
My advice is to wear comfy shoes! I made the mistake of wearing cute sandals, and my feet were killing me by the end of the day.
Bright Angel Trailhead
If you're planning to stay longer, consider the mule ride down. It’s a unique experience, but book in advance – I didn’t and regretted missing out because they were full.
Encanto Park
Pisteva Peak Park
Check out the local events calendar before you go. I stumbled upon a fun outdoor yoga class happening that day, which was a great way to enjoy the scenery and meet some friendly locals!
Monument Valley
If you're planning to take a lot of photos, bring a good set of lenses! I didn’t, and I wish I would’ve had a zoom lens. I suggest checking your camera gear before heading out!
My advice is to download a navigation app in advance! The cell service is spotty, and I got lost trying to find some viewpoints. Having offline maps saved me a lot of time!
South Rome Trail
My advice is to wear good hiking shoes. I saw a lot of folks slipping in regular sneakers, and trust me, you don’t want to twist an ankle out there!
I really suggest starting the hike early, around 7 AM. The views during sunrise are jaw-dropping, and there are way fewer people. Trust me, it's the best time for some peace and quiet.
I think it’s smart to download a trail map or use a hiking app before you go. Cell service can be spotty, and it helped me not get lost when I took a wrong turn!
Don't forget to pack your own snacks! I spent way too much at the visitor center. Bringing a picnic saved me cash and made for a perfect lunch stop on the trail.
Casa Grande Ruins
i suggest taking a guided tour if you can. the rangers know so much about the history, and i felt like i missed out when i didn't join one!
My advice is to bring your own water and snacks. The visitor center has limited options, and I ended up paying more than I wanted for a small drink.
Grand Canyon Caverns
My advice is to combine your trip with a visit to the nearby Route 66 attractions. You can save time and get a more colorful experience of the area, trust me, the quirky spots are worth it!
Bedrock City and Raptor Ranch
my advice is to pack some snacks and drinks before heading to raptor ranch. the prices at the concession stands can add up quickly, and it's nice to take a break in the shade with your own food while enjoying the view
I suggest visiting Bedrock City early in the morning, around 9 AM. That way, you’ll beat the crowds and have more time to explore without feeling rushed. Plus, the photos in the morning light are amazing!
