United Center
My advice is to buy tickets well in advance. Last minute tickets can be super expensive, and you'll be shocked at how much the scalpers charge outside!
don't miss the pre-game show if you can! it starts about 30 minutes before the game and adds a ton of excitement. seriously, it sets the vibe for the whole night!
Wrigley Field
I recommend using public transport to get there, like the 'L’ train. Parking is a nightmare and super expensive, so skip the stress and ride instead.
I suggest grabbing a hot dog from one of the vendors outside before heading in. They’re reasonably priced and super tasty! Plus, you'll save some cash compared to inside food prices.
My advice is to check the Cubs schedule in advance. If they're playing a popular team, the ticket prices can spike! So, plan accordingly.
Surge Coffee Bar & Billiards
Check out their happy hour deals. I found out too late they have great discounts from 4-7 PM. Grab a drink and save some cash.
Allstate Arena
Remember to bring a blanket or wear layers! The arena can get cold during the games. I learned that the hard way and I wasn’t enjoying the game as much!
I suggest arriving around 6 PM for a 7 PM game. It gives you enough time to explore the arena and find your seats without rushing.
My advice is to park in the lots behind the arena. It’s a bit of a walk but way cheaper than parking across the street. Plus, getting out after the event is way easier.
Guaranteed Rate Field
Make sure to walk around the park before the game starts. There are cool photo ops and some great views of the city that are worth capturing, especially around sunset.
Bring a clear bag for your snacks and drinks to speed through security. It saved me a ton of time at the entrance, and the staff were super chill about it.
If you're driving, consider using public transport instead to avoid parking hassles. The Red Line is super convenient and drops you right at the stadium.
Chris's Billiards
Bring a small cooler with snacks if you can! The food options are kinda limited and on the pricier side. Trust me, packing some chips goes a long way!
Pressure Billiards & Cafe
Be sure to bring some cash! They sometimes have issues with their card machines, which can be a hassle if you're trying to settle your tab quickly.
Point & Feather
I suggest checking out their happy hour from 4 to 6 PM, you can score some sweet drink deals that way! I missed it on my visit, and it would have saved me some cash.
Flight Club Chicago
If you’re into selfies, find the cool dartboard wall art for some great Instagram shots. But also keep an eye on your stuff when you’re taking pics – the place can get a little chaotic.
My advice is to order food and drinks before you start throwing darts. The service can get a bit slow later when the place fills up, and you don’t want to be waiting while everyone else is having fun.
G-Cue Billiards
If you're not a pool shark, don't be shy! The staff are super friendly and can give you tips. I felt way more comfortable asking for help than I thought I would.
I suggest checking out their happy hour from 4-7 PM for cheaper drinks and food - it really makes a difference! I didn't know and spent more than I intended.
