Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area

My advice is to pack your lunch and enjoy a picnic at one of the scenic overlooks. There are some great spots where you can chill and enjoy the view without spending a lot of money.

I recommend bringing a camera, because the views are stunning! But don’t forget to save some storage for all the pics. I ran out of space too soon!

If you're planning to hike, check the weather beforehand. I underestimated the heat, and wow, it gets really hot even in spring! My advice is to bring plenty of water and snacks.
Lake Tahoe

You should check out the dog-friendly trails if you have a furry friend. I found a great one near Emerald Bay, but be prepared for some steep climbs. Totally worth it.

I recommend grabbing a day pass for the local beaches; it totally saves money compared to individual entry fees. Plus some spots have awesome picnic areas where you can relax

My advice is to check local grocery stores for snacks instead of the pricey eateries. I stumbled upon a lovely deli that had fresh sandwiches and drinks at half the price!
Death Valley

Check out the visitor center first. I found some cool maps and tips there that really helped me plan my day better. I wish I had gone there before heading out into the park!

If you're driving, download offline maps. My service was spotty, and I got a bit lost. Having zoomed-in maps was a lifesaver. I recommend it even if you think you know the area.
Wildlife Sanctuary

I recommend checking the feeding schedule before you go. I missed the big cat feed, and it was such a bummer! You get to see more action if you're there at the right time.

I think you should wear comfortable shoes. The place has a lot of walking trails, and I saw so many people complaining about sore feet by noon. Seriously, sneakers are the way to go.

I suggest visiting on a weekday if you can. The crowd was way more manageable, and I got more personal interaction with the staff. Plus, less noise all around makes it better for the animals too
Clark Wetlands Park

I suggest checking the weather before you go. I got caught in a surprise dust storm, which wasn’t fun! A hat and sunglasses saved me, but it’s better to be prepared.

wear comfy shoes because the paths can get tricky, especially near the wetlands. i stumbled a bit, but i had a blast exploring! and don't forget your camera – it’s super photogenic.
Shark Reef Aquarium at Mandalay Bay

You should totally look for discount tickets online before you go. I saved a few bucks this way and it didn't take long to find them!

I recommend going early in the morning, like around 10 AM. It gets crowded quick and you want to enjoy the exhibits without feeling rushed.
Floyd Lam Park

Bring your own snacks and drinks. The park doesn't have many food options nearby, and you'll save some money by packing a picnic.

Download a map of the park beforehand. The layout can be a bit confusing, and having a map on your phone made it easier for me to navigate and not miss any cool spots!

Look for shaded areas if you're visiting during the day; the sun can be brutal! I found a lovely spot under some trees that made my break much more enjoyable.
National Elephant Canyon Sanctuary
Hemenway Park
Flightlinez Bootleg Canyon

I suggest booking your zip line tour online in advance to snag some discounts. I saved a decent chunk of change that way compared to the walk-in price.

Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring sunglasses! The views are stunning, and you'll want to enjoy every moment without worrying about your feet or the sun in your eyes.
