Sarah P. Duke Gardens

You don’t need to spend a ton on souvenirs. I found some really unique local art pieces at the gardens' shop, but prices can really vary. So, check around before buying.

I think it's worth checking the calendar for events before you go. When I visited, there were special activities happening that made the experience even more enjoyable.

Bring a water bottle! There's a lot of walking, and you can refill it conveniently around the gardens. I regretted not having mine on a hot day.

I suggest getting there right when they open at 9 AM. It’s way less crowded in the mornings, and you can snap some great photos without people in the background.
The Botanical Gardens at Asheville

I suggest bringing a light snack and some water. There's no cafe, and I regretted not having something to munch on while enjoying the views

If you can, visit on a weekday around 10 AM. We found it way less crowded and more peaceful to stroll through the beautiful trails without dodging a ton of people.

check out the gift shop before you leave. i totally missed it until the end, and they have some cute local items that would make great souvenirs!
