Angel Oak Tree

I recomment visiting early in the morning around 9 AM. It's less crowded, and you can snap some great pictures without too many people in the way!

Check out the nearby gift shop for nice souvenirs. I thought it was overpriced at first, but I found some unique local crafts that I don't regret buying.

If you can, visit during the week. I went on Saturday, and the crowds were crazy. Weekdays are way more chill, making for a better visit!
Sullivan's Island Beach

Check out the local food trucks on weekend evenings; they're delish and way cheaper than the sit-down restaurants. I had a great experience with a taco truck that served the best fish tacos ever.

I suggest arriving before 10 AM to snag a good parking spot. I didn’t and spent way too long circling the lots. Trust me, parking is a pain later in the day!
Waterfront Park

I suggest visiting early in the morning around 8 AM if you want to avoid the crowds and enjoy the quiet beauty of the park. Plus, the sunlight is perfect for photos!
Magnolia Plantation and Gardens

Don’t miss the boat tour if it’s running! I saw so many amazing lilypads and birds along the water and it really gave me a different perspective of the plantation. It’s worth the extra cost!

My advice is to check the seasonal bloom calendar before you visit. I went expecting magnolias but was too early and missed them. Plan your trip for peak bloom time for the best photos!

I think buying your tickets online in advance can save you a few bucks and help you skip the long lines at the entrance. Those extra minutes really add up when you’re excited to explore!
Folly Beach

Don't forget to try the tacos at Rita's, they were super yummy! But keep in mind, it can get busy, so I’d suggest going around 3 PM to avoid the wait.

If you’re planning to eat out, check out the local happy hours. Many places have great deals between 4-6 PM that can really save you some cash.
Boone Hall Plantation

If you're on a budget consider packing a lunch. The food on-site is good but pricey. There are great picnic spots around the plantation where you can enjoy your meal surrounded by nature.

Don't miss the slave cabins exhibit; it's really eye-opening and adds so much depth to the history. My advice is to take your time there - it's easy to rush through, but you'll want to read everything!
I recommend arriving right when they open at 9 AM to avoid the crowds, especially if you want to take nice photos of the gardens without too many people in the background. Trust me, it makes a big difference!
James Island County Park

Don’t miss the water features! Bring a towel if you plan to let the kids splash around; it’s a perfect way to cool off on a hot day.
White Point Garden

Check out the monuments, but don’t forget to wander off the beaten path! I stumbled upon some hidden, beautiful spots that weren't mentioned in any guide.

I recommend visiting early in the morning, around 8 AM, to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere before the crowds roll in. It’s like having the place to yourself for a bit!
South Carolina Aquarium

I recommend bringing your own snacks and drinks to save some cash. The food at the café was pricey, and honestly, there are better options outside the aquarium.

My advice is to check out the feeding times of the animals before you go. I missed the turtle feeding which I heard was super cool and I was bummed!
