Chateau de Versailles

Make sure to visit the gardens before 10 AM! They get super crowded later, plus the morning light is perfect for photos. I loved the tranquility at that hour

Wear comfy shoes, seriously! The grounds are massive, and I didn’t realize how much walking I’d do. My feet were hurting by the end of the day, and I regretted wearing cute but uncomfortable shoes.

If you're planning to go inside the palace, buy your tickets online and pick a time slot. I waited in line for about an hour, and it was a bit frustrating. Save yourself that headache.
Little Trianon

I recommend bringing a picnic! There's a lovely spot nearby where you can sit and enjoy a snack while taking in the beautiful gardens. It can save you money and is way more relaxing than eating on-the-go.

If you want to capture awesome photos, try to explore the little paths around the estate. I discovered a perfect angle for the beautiful facade, but it took a bit of wandering! It's worth it.

Don't forget to wear comfy shoes! The paths can be a bit uneven, and I regretted wearing my stylish new sneakers on my visit. Your feet will thank you after wandering around.
Grand Trianon
If you can, visit during the week rather than on weekends to avoid the crowds. I went on a Tuesday and it was much more relaxing and enjoyable.

Bring a picnic to enjoy in the gardens. It saves money and lets you soak in the beautiful scenery without rushing through a nearby café.

definitely explore the gardens thoroughly – there's some hidden spots that are absolutely stunning. i stumbled upon a peaceful little pond that wasn't in the main walkways.

Check the weather forecast before going. I didn't and ended up getting rained on, which cut my outdoor exploration short. A little planning goes a long way.
Mirror Gallery

If you're planning on taking photos, bring a good camera. The lighting in the gallery is stunning, and a phone camera just won't do it justice. I regret not bringing my DSLR for those perfect shots!

I suggest grabbing lunch at a nearby café instead of the palace eateries. They can be overpriced and crowded, but there's some great, affordable local food just a short walk away.

definitely get there around 9 am when it opens. the crowds get crazy later, and you want to enjoy the space without feeling rushed. i wish i had timed it better!
The Queen's Hamlet
I suggest getting your tickets online in advance. I did it, and it saved me a ton of time waiting in line. Plus, you’ll have more time to explore once you’re in the park.

Try to visit The Queen's Hamlet on a weekday ideally on a Tuesday or Wednesday to avoid the thick crowds. It’s so much more peaceful and you can really enjoy the vibe

Bring a picnic! I wish I had known that you can eat in some areas. Grab some goodies from a local bakery to enjoy while soaking in the views – it’s way more enjoyable than overpriced cafe food.
Versailles Cathedral

My advice is to get the combined ticket for the cathedral and a stroll around the gardens. The price difference is worth it and the beautiful scenery after the visit adds so much value! I didn’t realize it until later but combining them really makes for a perfect day
Royal Chapel

Don't forget to grab an audio guide! It adds so much context to the stunning architecture and is often available for a small fee – totally worth the investment.

If you can swing it, try to visit on a Wednesday or Thursday morning when it’s usually less crowded – I found those days to be way more enjoyable than the weekend chaos!

Check out the chapel's schedule ahead of time for any services or events; I stumbled upon a beautiful choir performance that really enhanced my experience.
Notre-Dame de Versailles

I suggest visiting around 9:00 am when it opens. The crowds are much smaller and you can enjoy the beauty in peace. I went later and it was super packed!

I think it’s worth investing in the audio guide. It gave me great insights and made my experience so much richer. Without it, I felt like I missed out on so much history!
