Fromagerie Les Alpages
Check out their special events or cheese-making workshops. I was lucky to stumble upon one and it was the highlight of my visit!
If you're on a budget, go for the house-made bread to pair with your cheese. It's super affordable and adds a nice touch!
If you plan to buy cheese to take home, bring a cooler bag... It helps keep your purchases fresh, especially if you'll be out exploring afterwards
i recommend visiting on weekdays if you can. the weekends can get busy and you'll have a way better experience with fewer crowds.
Fromagerie Graindorge
La Fermette
I think coming around 4 PM is the sweet spot – the cheese selection was fresh and I didn’t have to wait too long for a table, unlike the rush right after work hours.
I suggest checking if they have any special events or cheese-making demos happening during your visit. I stumbled across one and it was totally worth it!
If you’re on a budget, grab a plate of the daily special cheeses instead of choosing a set platter. It was a great value and I got to try several delicious options!
Societe des Caves Roquefort
Don't forget to bring a jacket! It gets pretty chilly in the caves, and I was underdressed – felt like a frozen cheese!
i think booking your tickets online in advance could save you some hassle. there were people waiting in long lines while i walked right in!
Le Cheese Geek
If you're planning to buy cheese to take home, consider grabbing their pre-packed selections. It saved me time and I got a nice variety without stressing over choices!
I think you should look into their cheese workshops. It’s a bit extra, but I learned so much and it was totally worth the money. Just book in advance because they fill up fast.
Fromagerie Deruelle
I suggest visiting on a weekday around 10 AM when it's less crowded and you can enjoy more personalized service. It was way less hectic for me!
Make sure to ask for samples before buying. I thought I knew what I wanted, but tasting a few different cheeses opened up my options and saved me money!
If you can, bring a small cooler bag. I got some delicious cheeses to-go, and they were fine on the ride home, but a cooler would have kept them even fresher longer!
Don’t miss their seasonal specialties. I accidentally visited during their 'cheese of the month' event and got to try some limited-edition flavors I would have missed otherwise.
Fromagere de Suscinio Farm
If you're planning to buy cheese, do it after tasting - they have a great selection, and you might discover something new you love.
Fromagere Jeune Montagne
Don't skip the tasting session! It was the highlight for me. Just make sure to bring a little extra cash for the delicious samples – they can get you hooked!
Fromagerie Quatrehomme Esperance
Make sure to ask for samples before you buy! The staff is super friendly and will let you try different cheeses, which helps you choose the right one without overspending.
Domaine du Croc du Merle
I recommend booking a tasting in advance to avoid disappointment, especially during peak tourist seasons. I missed out because I didn’t plan ahead!
Definitely try to visit during the week if you can – it’s way less crowded and you really get to chat with the staff about the wines and cheeses... They love sharing their knowledge
