Milan Cathedral

Try to visit on a weekday if you can, as weekends can get super crowded. I went on a Tuesday morning and it was way more pleasant and I got some nice photos without a ton of people in the background.

Don’t forget to grab a gelato from one of the stalls nearby when you finish your visit! It’s the perfect treat after exploring the cathedral.

Consider buying your tickets online in advance to skip the long lines. I waited about 30 minutes to get in, but I saw others waiting much longer.

Look for the hidden details in the façade. Make sure to take your time exploring; I almost missed some amazing sculptures because I was in a hurry.
Pantheon Museum

I think it's cool to check out the surrounding area too! There are shops and restaurants nearby that you shouldn't miss after your visit. It's a great spot to just wander and soak up the atmosphere.

I recommend getting there around 8 am. It's way less crowded, and you can enjoy the beauty of the Pantheon without too many people around. Trust me, it's better to avoid the rush!

If you're a fan of photography, don't forget to bring your camera. The light coming through the oculus is just breathtaking! Just watch out for the crowds around that spot, it's easy to get bumped when you least expect it.

I suggest keeping an eye on any temporary exhibits or events that might be happening during your visit. I found a really interesting photography exhibit when I was there, which made the trip even better!
Coliseum

If you can, visit the Palatine Hill first. I did it the other way around, and all that walking on the hill exhausted me before the Coliseum. The views are amazing too!

Don't forget to bring water. I thought the cold drinks at the entrance would be enough, but they were super overpriced! A refillable water bottle is a lifesaver.

My advice is to download the App that offers the audio guide. I did it and it's way cheaper than hiring a guide. You’ll get all the info you need without breaking the bank.

Try to time your visit around lunchtime, like 2 PM or so. The light outside is stunning for photos, plus the crowds thin out a bit after the lunch rush.
The Uffizi Galleries

I learned the hard way that wearing comfortable shoes is a must. You're gonna do a lot of walking - so be kind to your feet!

If you're on a budget, grab a meal at a nearby deli instead of the touristy restaurants. You're in for some great authentic food without breaking the bank!

My advice is to visit during the off-peak hours, like right when they open at 8:15 AM. You’ll have a better chance of enjoying the art without huge crowds.
National Museum of Castel Sant'Angelo
Castello Sforzesco

I think grabbing a bite from a local café before entering the castle is a good idea. The on-site options were a bit pricey and the food was just okay.
If you can, visit on a weekday instead of the weekend. The crowds can get pretty wild, which makes exploring the castle harder.

Take a stroll in the Sempione Park right next to the castle. It's a beautiful place to relax and it’s free – perfect for a break after exploring!
Roman Forum
Trevi Fountain
Ponte Vecchio

If you’re a fan of history, do a bit of research beforehand. Knowing the backstory of the bridge made my visit more interesting, and I had a better appreciation while exploring.

Look out for local artisans and handmade goods. I found some unique souvenirs that were reasonably priced compared to the typical tourist shops.

Don’t just focus on the bridge. Walk around the area to discover lovely cafes and hidden streets. I stumbled upon a great gelato place just a few minutes away.

Take a few moments to sit on the nearby steps by the river to soak in the view. It’s a beautiful spot to relax; I missed this the first time around!
Piazza Navona

Don't forget to check out the fountains! I missed some cool details because I was too busy taking selfies. Slow down and really take it all in—that’s the real beauty of the place.

I suggest visiting on a weekday if you can. I went on a Saturday and it was so packed I could hardly move. Weekdays feel way more relaxing and enjoyable!

I highly recommend grabbing a coffee at one of the little cafes around the square. You might pay a bit more, but the atmosphere is worth it! I think it's nice to soak in the surroundings.

Watch out for the 'tourist traps' that sell overpriced souvenirs. Instead, explore the side streets for unique shops. You’ll save money and find some really special stuff!
