My advice is to bring a light jacket even if it’s sunny in town. It can get surprisingly cold on the train, especially in the higher elevations

My advice is to bring snacks and drinks. The train ride can feel long without something to munch on, and prices on board can be a bit steep!

Check out the train's schedule in advance. I found the 10:30 am ride to be less crowded, which made for a more relaxed experience.

Bring a picnic! There are lovely spots in the park area where you can enjoy your snacks during the stop, and it’s way cheaper than the café.
