Light Museum
I suggest bringing a light jacket. The museum can get chilly, especially around the projection areas.
Museum of Confluences
I recommend bringing a good pair of walking shoes. There’s a lot of ground to cover, and I regret wearing something fancier than I should have.
Museum of Cinema and Miniatures
I think you should take your time in the miniatures section. It gets crowded and if you rush, you might miss some really cool details!
I recommend hitting up the little gift shop after your visit! I found some unique souvenirs that you won't see anywhere else.
House of Canuts
If you're on a budget, consider visiting on a Sunday. They had some special discounts that day, and I saved quite a bit on admission!
My advice is to wear comfy shoes. The house is in the Croix-Rousse area, which is super hilly so you'll be walking a bit. Trust me, your feet will thank you later!
I found the gift shop quite charming. They had some unique souvenirs that were actually worth buying instead of more generic stuff elsewhere in Lyon.
Lyon Museum of Fine Arts
Check out the museum’s temporary exhibitions before you go; they often showcase unique pieces that aren’t on permanent display. I found one that was a highlight of my trip!
Buy your tickets online to skip the long lines at the entrance – it saved me at least 30 minutes. The museum can get pretty crowded, especially on weekends.
Gallo-Roman Museum of Fourvière
I recommend visiting on a weekday morning; it was way less crowded then. You can take your time exploring the exhibits, and the atmosphere is more relaxed.
The Island Palace
If you’re on a budget, try bringing your own snacks. There are lovely spots to enjoy a picnic near the palace, and it saves you cash on overpriced cafe food.
When I was there, I found the audio guide really helpful. My advice is to rent one; it’s worth it to learn more about the history without missing any details.
Museum of Fabrics and Decorative Arts
I suggest visiting during the week instead of the weekend; it’s way less crowded and you can take your time appreciating the exhibits.
