Light Museum

My advice is to take the audio guide. It gives you cool insights that you won't find just roaming around. I found it super helpful!

I recommend buying your tickets online to skip the long queue at the entrance. It saved me a bunch of time!

I suggest bringing a light jacket. The museum can get chilly, especially around the projection areas.
Basilica of Notre Dame de Fourviere

Don't miss the view from the terrace! It’s stunning and you can see all of Lyon. I thought it was my favorite part of the visit, even more than the inside.

Check out the little shops close by for unique souvenirs. I found some great local crafts that were way cooler and cheaper than stuff inside the basilica

Get there early, around 9 AM, to beat the crowds. It was peaceful and photogenic before the tourists flooded in. Plus, the morning light is gorgeous for shots!

I recommend wearing comfy shoes. The climb up can be a little steep and you'll want to explore all the surrounding areas without your feet killing you.
Museum of Confluences

Don’t forget to explore the outdoor areas around the museum, especially the lovely views by the riverside. It’s a nice break from the exhibits.

I recommend bringing a good pair of walking shoes. There’s a lot of ground to cover, and I regret wearing something fancier than I should have.
Bridge of Love

If you're into unique photos, bring a small lock to add to the bridge. It’s a cute way to participate in the tradition and can save you some cash – no need to buy souvenirs!
Museum of Cinema and Miniatures

My advice is to buy your tickets online ahead of time. The line can get ridiculously long, and I wished I had done that!

I think you should take your time in the miniatures section. It gets crowded and if you rush, you might miss some really cool details!

I recommend hitting up the little gift shop after your visit! I found some unique souvenirs that you won't see anywhere else.
House of Canuts

Honestly don't skip the video presentation! It really sets the stage for what you're going to see; I found it very engaging and made everything come to life.

I suggest you check out the weaving demonstrations; they were super interesting and gave me a real feel for the craft. You might want to snap a few pics, but be aware that some areas have restrictions.

Plan to spend about 1-2 hours here. I thought it would be quick, but there was so much to see that I ended up loving every minute of it.

If you're on a budget, consider visiting on a Sunday. They had some special discounts that day, and I saved quite a bit on admission!
Lyon Museum of Fine Arts

Wear comfortable shoes! The museum is huge, and I didn't realize I'd be walking around for a few hours. I was regretting my choice of shoes halfway through my visit.

Don't miss the courtyard. It's a hidden gem for some peace and quiet away from the crowds. I spent a lovely 15 minutes just soaking it in

Check out the museum’s temporary exhibitions before you go; they often showcase unique pieces that aren’t on permanent display. I found one that was a highlight of my trip!

Buy your tickets online to skip the long lines at the entrance – it saved me at least 30 minutes. The museum can get pretty crowded, especially on weekends.
Gallo-Roman Museum of Fourvière

If you want to save some cash, check the museum's website for any free entry days or discounts. I found out I could go in for half price with my student card!

Make sure to check out the rooftop terrace; the views of Lyon are stunning and totally worth the trek up! I almost skipped it thinking it was just a gift shop

I recommend visiting on a weekday morning; it was way less crowded then. You can take your time exploring the exhibits, and the atmosphere is more relaxed.
The Island Palace

I recommend taking the time to stroll around the gardens after touring the palace. It’s a perfect way to wind down, and the views are stunning sketching

If you’re on a budget, try bringing your own snacks. There are lovely spots to enjoy a picnic near the palace, and it saves you cash on overpriced cafe food.

When I was there, I found the audio guide really helpful. My advice is to rent one; it’s worth it to learn more about the history without missing any details.
Eglise de Saint Pierre

My advice is to take your time exploring the little details; I almost missed some incredible carvings because I was rushing through! Just slow down and enjoy the atmosphere

I suggest visiting around 10 AM to avoid the crowds. The morning light makes the stained glass pop like crazy, and you’ll have more time to soak it all in without rushing.

I think bringing a small guidebook or having offline maps on your phone can save you time. I had some trouble finding my way back to the main square, and it wasted a bit of my visiting time.

I recommend checking out the nearby cafés for a quick bite before or after your visit. I had a delicious croissant at a little spot just around the corner that was way cheaper than the tourist traps!
