Strasbourg Cathedral
I suggest visiting the cathedral right at 8 AM when it opens. The early morning light is stunning for photos, and you’ll dodge the crowds!

If you can, grab a Strasbourg Pass beforehand. It not only gives you access to the cathedral but also discounts to nearby attractions, saving you some cash.
Little Venice

I suggest visiting early in the morning, around 8 am, when the streets are quieter and you can truly appreciate the stunning architecture without the crowds.

I recommend bringing a refillable water bottle. There are lovely parks along the canals where you can relax and enjoy some views without spending money on drinks.

I suggest trying to catch a boat tour for a different perspective of Little Venice. It’s better to book it online ahead of time to avoid long queues.

Be mindful of local events or festivals during your visit. They can draw big crowds, but they also offer unique experiences if you're in the right place at the right time!
Notre-Dame Cathedral of Reims

My advice is to wear comfy shoes. The cobblestone streets can be tiring and you’ll want to explore the area around the cathedral too

Plan to spend some time in the surrounding gardens. I thought they were just okay, but they offer a nice, peaceful break from the cathedral’s busyness.

If you're into history, grab an audio guide. It made my visit a lot richer; I could connect to the stories behind the cathedral. It’s a small investment!

I suggest popping by on a weekday morning around 9 AM. It’s way less crowded then, and you can admire the stunning architecture without too many photo bombers!
Upper Koenigsbourg Castle
For a great view and some good photo ops head to the panoramic terrace. I almost missed it because I was too focused on the castle itself!

My advice is to wear comfy shoes. The cobblestone paths can be tough on the feet, especially if you want to explore every nook and cranny of this amazing place.

i suggest you buy your tickets online in advance to skip the long lines. i got stuck waiting for nearly an hour because i decided to purchase them on-site

Check out the castle’s exhibition on the history before you explore. I think it helped me understand the place better, and it took about 30 minutes – totally worth it!
Place Kleber

Really take your time to explore the surrounding areas! I nearly missed the stunning architecture on the side streets. It felt like I discovered a hidden gem every few minutes.

My advice is to grab a coffee at one of the café terraces around Place Kleber in the morning. It’s a perfect way to soak in the atmosphere before the crowds show up.

Don’t miss the opportunity to snap pics at dusk. The light hits the buildings beautifully and it’s way less crowded. You might want to come back around 7 PM - it was perfect for me!

Be ready for some crowds, especially on weekends. If you can, go during the weekday, preferably Tuesday or Wednesday, when it's much quieter. I regretted not planning that way.
Metz Cathedral
If you can, visit on a weekday morning around 10 AM. It was much quieter then and I got great shots of the stained glass without crowds in the way. Trust me, it's worth it!

Don't skip the crypt area! I almost did because I thought it would be uninteresting. It has some cool historical artifacts and gives you a different vibe of the Cathedral.

I suggest bringing a light jacket or sweater, as it can get a bit chilly inside the Cathedral, especially if you visit in the colder months. I wasn't prepared and regretted it!
Barrage Vauban

i suggest visiting barrage vauban late afternoon, around 4 pm. the lighting is perfect for photos, and it’s less crowded. plus, you can catch a lovely sunset over the water!

My advice is to grab a bite at nearby cafés before heading up to the viewing platform. It's a bit pricey in the area, but you’ll save money if you eat elsewhere
Centre Pompidou-Metz

My advice is to explore the building’s architecture as much as the exhibits. The design is stunning and deserves some time. I almost missed it because I was too focused on the art!
Basilica Saint Remi
Place Drouet d'Erlon

I think visiting during the weekend is a blast with all the lively street performers, but it can get busy. If you prefer a quieter vibe, try going on a weekday instead.

I suggest taking a stroll around the smaller streets nearby after exploring the square. You might find some hidden gems and charming shops to explore without the hustle of the main area

My advice is to check the weather before you go. A sudden rainstorm caught me off guard, so bring an umbrella, just in case. It got a bit damp!

I found that visiting in the late afternoon, around 5 PM, let me escape the crowds and enjoy the beautiful architecture in peace. It's a perfect time for some great photos too!
