My advice is to spend some time chatting with the instructors; they're super friendly and can give you insider tips on the best diving spots around Annecy that aren't in the guidebooks.

I think the gear rental prices are a bit steep, so if you have your own mask and snorkel, bring them! You'll save some euros and feel more comfortable too.
